The Chester County Treasurer will be collecting real estate taxes for Valley Township in 2018.  Bills were mailed by January 31, 2018.  Please note that payments will no longer be taken at the Township Office; however, the various payment options for paying your real estate bill are listed on the back of the bill.

The real estate millage for the 2018 budget is 3.3 mills, broken down as follows:

  • General Township Purpose – 2.50 mills
  • Emergency Services (Ambulance/EMS ) – 0.450 mills
  • Fire Protection – 0.350 mills

The tax revenue for emergency services and fire protection is earmarked to help support the Westwood Fire Company and Ambulance Division to include capital replacement savings and operation funding support.  The additional 0.50 mill increase for the township general purpose is estimated to generate an additional $189,500 in revenue to help cover increasing costs to the township to provide police protection, road maintenance, snow removal, MS4 requirements by DEP, rising personnel costs, and debt service for new Township Building.

No increase was adopted for the trash, water, or sewer rates for 2018. Click here to view a copy of the adopted 2018 budget.
