Valley North Voting District Update

It was noted in the Summer/Fall Township Newsletter that, starting with the General Election in November 2019, the Valley North Voting District would be broken down into 3 voting districts.
Chester County Voter Services has notified us that this unfortunately will NOT begin in November 2019. It is anticipated this will start in the Primary Election of Spring 2020.
Valley North will have one voting location, Rainbow Elementary School, for the General Election on November 5, 2019.
No Change for Valley South Voting District.

Fire stations across Chester County are in need of volunteers like you who are ready to help save lives and protect property right in their own backyard. That's why last year the Chester County Fire Chiefs Association launched to help make it easy to understand the many volunteer opportunities available. Plus there's a volunteer inquiry form you can fill out that will allow members of your local fire station to contact you about your interest in becoming a volunteer and answer any questions you may have. Did you know?

Spotted lanternfly (SLF) is an invasive insect present in Chester County and surrounding areas. SLF threatens agriculture, tree health and it is a nuisance pest. Chester County is within the SLF quarantine zone. Check for and remove SLF egg masses from late fall to early spring. Remember that egg masses may be underneath your car or in your wheel well. During all other times of the year, check for nymphs and adults, and keep your windows rolled up when you park. Don’t store things or park under infested trees, and do not transport firewood. Inspect your vehicle for SLF before traveling.

For more information and to learn how you can control SLF on your own property, visit spotted-lanternfly-management-for-homeowners

Only Rain in the Drain Never put anything into the storm sewers, including oil, paint, soap, debris, leaves, etc. Storm sewers do not go to the sewer plant but discharge directly into our streams.

As part of a County-wide initiative, Valley Township was issued a MedReturn Drug Collection Box for residents to bring in prescription and over-the-counter medications that they no longer need. The collection box is located in the lobby at the Township Building. (more info)
